Sam Snead Signed Contract for Sportswear

This is a signed carbon copy of a contract for Sam Snead to appear in photographs for “Ship ‘n Shore Blouses”. There is some wrinkling of the paper at the top and a creased corner at the bottom right, not affecting the signature. Signed on the 16th of September, 1953, it reads in part “…in consideration of ONE ($1.00) DOLLAR and other good and valuable considerations to me in hand paid, receipt …shall have the right to take a photograph or photographs of me, either alone or in the company with other persons, objects and thins at Winged Foot Country Club… on September 15 and September 16, 1953, and shall have the right generally to use, publish, reproduce, distribute and exhibit any pictures of me in still and motion picture form, with our without my name, in publications, television stations, motion picture theaters or at organization and club gatherings….” It is signed in green ink by Sam Snead and witnessed by his manager, Fred Corcoran.
