This is an original series of 10 photos and 8 contact sheets (all 8 by 10) of Sammy Davis Jr. from the mid 1960s. I do not know the exact date or who shot them, but I believe them to be by a premier photographer of the day (Milton Greene? Phil Stern?) to accompany a magazine article (Look? Ebony?), as he is being interviewed in the photos. As ebay limits you to 12 photos only, there are 6 additional contact sheets included in the group that are not shown.
I am a professional television editor, and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for my 1999 A&E Biography of the Rat Pack.
These photos were used as artwork in that program. I purchased them in 1998, and put them into a fireproof cabinet after they were photographed for that program.
They have not been out since except to photograph them for this sale.
As you can see from the detailed photos their condition is absolutely MINT original, no flaws of any kind. The contact sheets bear the original red editor's pen marks.
I guarantee these photos to be Original and Genuine, and the photographs of them in this posting to be unretouched.
Please feel free to inquire about any aspect of the photos.
I have calculated shipping costs based on USPS Priority Mail small box (plus insurance TBD), but will ship as per winning bidder's instructions.
The photos may also be picked up from me personally at my apartment on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, or within a 200 mile radius of my country home in southwest New Hampshire. Contact me for payment methods to pay on pickup.
