Samurai Shirasaya Katana Sword w/ cutaway Bushido Code

This Samurai sword is a beautiful example of the Shirasaya Sheath. The Shirasaya, or 'concealing scabbard' is designed to allow a weapon to breath properly and to not rust. This was often used for the storing or transporting of a sword. Because of the use of this style of scabbard, there are none of the fittings as normally seen on a katana. In this case, the austere design beautifully showcases the blades themselves with the black Samurai Bushido code inscription upon each of the three blades.

This weapon has a 440 stainless steel blade with a beautiful false Hamon (tempered line). The 'concealing scabbard' is made of wood that has been laquered a clean matte black without any decorative elements besides the crisp shaping and the cuttouts on either side of the scabbard through which the Samurai code is visible. Even the habaki (sword collar) is chrome plated to blend in with and to emphasis the blade of this weapon. Our Shirasaya Katana measures appx. 38.5" total length with a 27.5" blade.

The blades is quite sharp and not recommended for combat use or sword play. As with any weapon, the suitability or unsuitability for any use is the responsibility of the user. No use whatsoever is endorsed.
