Sass Cowboy Custom Western Holster

Here I have a custom made Dodge City style single action holster that fits a Colt SAA or similar clones with 5 1/2" bbl. This is a right hand draw holster with a meandering border. It is molded to fit this specific firearm which eliminates the need to break the holster in. I recommend a large caliber such as a 45 caliber, since this is the type of frame that I used to mold the holster. The edge is turned out to make re-holstering faster and easier. I just finished making this in my shop to use as a prototype for my website. All of my holsters are made to fit up to a 3” belt. I list all of my prototypes for a discount here on eBay. The holster is a medium antique brown.

All of the items are made using the best Wickett & Craig leather, one of the only good tanneries left here in the U.S.

I do not use any shortcuts when it comes to making custom leather items. All of the patterns are cut by hand, not clicker dies, meaning no two items are ever the same. Everything is finished by hand and most items are stitched by hand, not a machine. There are very few items that I use a machine for.

I offer stamped items lower than carved items. The reason for this is that carved items take hours to complete where stamped items take ¼ - ½  the time. My time is really what I am charging for, not so much the material. I will not let my items go for less than my time.

I use a cobbler’s stitch for all of the holsters so if a thread does happen to break, the rest of the thread does not come undone, like the common saddler’s stitch, which you see on most holsters.
