Here's a rare copy of the 1946 children's book "Elsie And the Looking Club" featuring the famous Borden's mascot, Elsie the Cow. Published by the American Crayon Company, an Old Faithful book. Story by Monte Sohn, drawings by Walter Early who were both instrumental in the development of Elsie as an international icon. The book deals with the decision of the Elsie-led Society of Lady Bovines not to give any more milk, causing a major upheaval throughout the nation's social structure. (no milk, no ice cream!) Elsie's husband is Elmer the Bull (later the mascot for Elmer's glue.) Their offspring included Belulah, Beauregard and twins Larabee and Lobelia. CONDITION: Excellent condition on this 63-year old book. Some cover scuffing, small nicks and corner bumping, inscription in pencil inside cover, 61 pages with no other writing, tears, etc. Binding is good. NO RETURN ON BOOKS or MAGAZINES Free Shipping!
