Item specifics
Condition: UsedBrand: Schilke

Wonderful playing Schilke D2. I am not totally sure what a D2 actually is. I assume it is a ML bore D trumpet. Really bore size means nothing especially when dealing with Schilkes. They all play great in my opinion. If I had a use for a D trumpet, then I'd keep it but I bought it and sit in the case for a year it did!  I ended up using the Piccolo (Schilke of course!) for those seasonal gigs I do. This horn has excellent compression as you would expect for a Schilke. It has a couple of dings here and there and some evidence of solder repair. The valves are in wonderful condition, just look at the ports on the valves-NO GUNK nice and clean. All the slides pull. It was the last horn made in 1964. Serial number 2220.  2 dings in the back bow and a couple of pings on the slide bows.  Schilke did not make the combination Eb/D until later production. Remember that the E3L with the D slides in it is actually an Eb trumpet with longer slides. Some claim that an actual D trumpet plays better so if you agree and that is what you are looking for then you have found a real D trumpet.  This horn plays so good that I'm tempted to use it as my regular Bb and play lead gigs on it except I'd actually have to transpose.

International customers: for some reason, Ebay has allowed international bidders to paypal me the total amount based on NATIONAL shipping. If you are international, you have to wait for me to calculate your cost AND INSURANCE before I send you a total for the item. Please do not just send funds through Paypal as the auction completes. WAIT FOR ME TO CONTACT YOU PLEASE.  Bear in mind that it is expensive to ship to some countries and I have to purchase the insurance, there is no way around it. I recently sent a mouthpiece to Europe.  The mouthpiece sold the $10 and the insured shipping was $26. That is just what it costs.

PLEASE LOOK AT THE PHOTOS. Unless otherwise stated, item sold as is.

Q: Hello, The lead pipe looks being slightly bended, doesn't it? It could be fixed, right? And at where can I see the evidence of solder repair? Many Thanks Toru
A:  It might be how the leadpipe reciever was put on. I can't be sure so that is why someone will have to take a chance on it. I did. A couple of the braces have been off why? I'm not sure about that either. Again,... Continue reading
