The Stop Guide is Included with Your Scor-It

    The Original Scor-It Board

Designed for professional, home-craft and commercial use.

This Professional Quality Scoring Board scores and more!

Used by scrapbookers, stampers, cardmakers, print shops, and stationery stores to create professional, machine-quality scores by hand.

Fast and accurate professional quality hand-scored lines for many card making, scrapbooking and paper crafting projects.

    EASY TO USE

Create elegant embossed and de-bossed lines for an elegant and beautiful presentation.

    What will it score?

Scor-it will score with or against the paper grain and handle up to 24 pt board stock!
It will also score plastic, synthetic and hand-made papers, vellum, metallic coated paper and more!

    Scor-It measures 12" x 13" with a non-slip surface.

Your paper stays flat while you work.

Rubber feet on the underside stabilize your board and prevent slipping.

The on-board guide provides points for precise centering and can be marked for repetitive work.  The metal scoring ridge runs straight down the center of the board.

The wood scoring tool, which is attached to your board, is a pleasure to hold and very easy to use.  My arthritic hands were able to create beautiful works of art while I worked with this wonderful product at the Craft and Hobby Association Tradeshow in July.  Although I scored my cardstock many times, none of the scores created unwanted buckles or cracks when I folded the stock.  I've used bone folders for years and thought I did well with them until I experienced the results when using Scor-It.

    Scor-It Tutorial

Cindy Cade plays with the Scor-It Tool©

Here are the manufacturer's comments about the Scor-It Tool©:

    • Scor-it© produces a true hinge score, by hand, comparable to a score produced on a letterpress machine.

    • Simply slide a piece of paper stock up against the centering ruler to create a 90 degree angle with the scoring rule.

    • Holding the scoring tool, as you would a pen or pencil, you engage the groove in the tool with the scoring rule and with even pressure draw the tool down over the paper to create the score.

    • Always remember to fold the paper with the bulge of the score on the inside of the fold.

    • Note: the scoring tool cannot be used without the scoring board and vice versa

    • Scor-it© will score paper from 80# book weight up to 24pt cover weight

      Tips:

    1. Make sure you have your paper or cardstock pushed all the way up to the ruler and hold in place.

    2. Position yourself straight over your board so as to view straight on. Otherwise you will not align it on the ruler’s marks correctly.

    3. Hold your wood scoring tool perpendicular (vertical) to the board.

    4. If you angle the tool, leaning it to the right or left so it is not perfect on the “scoring rule,” you will not get a good crease.

    5. You may choose to mark on your board at your most used spots.

    6. Practice. Using Scor-It© is very easy and following these tips will make you an instant pro.

    7. We are only scratching the surface of what you can do. So let’s see what you create!

    Samples

    Simple Score:

      Let’s begin simply.

    1. From outside edges measure in ½” and score.

    2. Now move the card over ¼” and score again.

    3. Do this to both the top and the side with the card open so as to only score the front of the card.

    4. Simple Score Complete!

You can leave the areas plain (very pretty)

or add ribbons, copper foil, color, etc.

I embellished with an old snap and a HIT stamp.

While you don’t have to highlight

or distress as I did here,

this is just another option to make the lines pop.

HIT stamps and Rangers Distress Inks.

      Score Design:  Another easy card.

    1. I did not use the scoring ruler for the corners on this.

    2. I just lined up on the scoring rule on the two corners and scored.

    3. I then centered for the middle lines.

    4. Score Design Complete

      Door Invitation:

    1. Score your cardstock in half on the long side.

    2. Cut to pocket. You can make the pocket any size you choose.

    3. Punch holes with Circles and Rectangle geometric dies or punches.

    4. Door Invitation Complete!

Fold and tape in place with strong tape.

Stamp image and dry. Print out saying and trim height to fit into the window.

    Punch the top if desired.

You could put in tags, bags of goodies, coupons, photos, neighborhood party invites lots of things!

CindyCs Portfolio, CindyCs Portfolio Front, CindyCs Portfolio Back:

I tried to find a portfolio template that used a single 8 ½ by 11 piece of cardstock but was unsuccessful so I created my own.

You may use with credit please.

After scoring cut away as shown.

Stamp your images and dry. Tape sides in place with industrial strength tape. Fold top over and score where it meets the front.

Use the score as a guide to notch your tabs.

    Pleated Card

I saw some gorgeous pleated cards on the web but could not find directions or a pattern so I created my own.  I did mine a bit differently, though.  Follow directions for scoring on sample.

    Pleated Card Folded

Shows it already folded but not taped yet.

Cut your decorative pieces using a Sizzlit border die.

Attach the left green one to back of the folded pleat.

    Tape pleat in place.

Add your other strips to both left and right sides.

    Pleated Card Inside

Note how the strips to the right now show on the inside of the card because of the fold .

    Pleated Card Complete:

    Stamp is by HIT .

    Accordion Booklet

    Follow instructions for the scores.

I flip it back and forth for the true accordion fold.

Here you can add pages, die cuts, paper bags, envelopes, whatever you wish to finish the book.

    Please Note:

Samples and instructions are © by Cindy Cade and may be used when proper credit is given. Thank you.
