Offered is a Brand New Unopened, Shrinkwrapped, Italeri YB-49 "Flying Wing"

Features of this kit include:

• 10 sprues of gray plastic plus one sprue of clear plastic
• Detailed cockpit with stations for the pilot, copilot, flight engineer, bombardier and forward gunner
• Rear gunners station
• Decals and marking instructions for a YB-49 prototype

First flown on October 21st, 1947 the YB-49 set an unofficial endurance record of staying continually above 40,000 ft (12,200 m) for six hours, and a trans-continental speed record, flying from Muroc Air Force Base in California to Andrews Air Force Base near Washington, D.C. in 4 hours 20 minutes. The modern B-2 Stealth Bomber, also built by Northrop, has the exact same wingspan as the YB-49 prototypes.
