This is a 7 foot 40-80 lb Seeker Hurcules spinning rod. This rod was built on one of the newer Seeker GTS70 H blanks. This rod is the ultimate in big game spinning rods. The new Hurcules blank is much like the Calstar Grafighter .. except .. the 7 foot 40-80 lb Hurcules weighs in at 7.1 ounces the Calstar Grafighter 30-80 is 8.8 ounces and the Seeker is quite a bit smaller in diamiter. The tip is a little bit more lively .. It is an S glass composite. It is pricier then the Calstar Grafighter ... but i belive worth the money. This is the nicest new series of blanks i've seen in a long, long time. This rod is blacked out.The idea for the blacked out version of these rods was to try to find a way to make these rods more affordable. The price of the blank is the price .. the price of the reel seat, the foam and the guides is the price .. no way to change these prices .... Labor is the only thing that is left .. I figured i spent about 1/3 of my time building any one rod doing the fancy wrap and the trim around the guides ... if i could get away from those two things i could cut the cost of the rods labor at least 1/3 ... So, that's what i did ... no wraps and no trim ... I stuck our logo/sticker on it so you'd know where it came from, and built it with the most angler friendly rod with the best components i could find .. I had no idea they would be so popular. I wish everyone could pick this thing up and feel the weight and the action. .. fire a big popper to a 100 lb yft .. Then you'd know what i know .. It's one sweet rod .. This rod has a rubber butt cap / gimbal .. it is a slotted butt cap so you can put it in your belly with out the aluminum gimbal digging in, it still has slots cut for your fighting belt. You may order the aluminum butt cap at no additional charge. If your going to use this rod in a belt the majority of the time, the aluminum would be a little better I used a newer ribbed EVA foam grip we had manufactured .. it is approxamately 1 inch in diameter .. that is some what smaller in diameter then most rear grips .. it has a lot of the same qualities as the shark skin rear grips we use .. but it is softer .. it's ribbed .. so easy to grip .. it's light and has a very good feel. The shark skin grips are also available as and no chage option. The reel seat is the Fuji heavy duty saltwater boat rod reel seat .. more then strong enough for this rod. We find the graphite reel seats to be a little more user friendly then the aluminum .. it wont get slick when it's wet and it doesn't get cold or hot like the aluminum reel seats will. But if you prefer an aluminum reel seat we will subsitute the Alps aluminim reel seat at no additional chage. It is available in several colors with the aluminum gimbals to match. The fore grip is a triangular shaped grip we have manufactured for us. It is molded to have a great transition from the reel seat and too the blank, I got tired of trying to custom shape the fore grips. So i had one molded to my specifications. On my last tuna trip, the one improvement to the spinning rods, that everyone who caught tuna was in total agreement with, was putting the triangular grips on the spinning rods .... When you are 45 minutes into fighting a 100 lb YFT on this spinning rod, and he rips off a couple hundred yards of line ... please remember to drop me a thank you note for the triangular fore grip when you get back. We put an Aftco tuna block on this rod so you can use it with a rod ring .. this will let you use your rod in your fighting belt and with a harness. We are currently working on an heavy duty quick connect tuna strap. We hope to have it available in a few weeks. But the rod rings will work until we get a better set developed. The 8 guides plus the tip are the Fuji Sic SVSG guides. They are perfect for any of the braided or mono lines. Note ::::: these guides may be upgraded to the Fuji SiC Surf guides for the difference in my cost .. about $25 .. please write for exact pricing .. The Fuji SiC guides are gun smoke in color they are the very best guide Fuji manufactures ..... Each guide is under wrapped with black thread to insure no guide to blank contact, then each guide is attached with 4 layers of C sized thread for maximum strength, We will have an entire serier of the blacked out rods. I'm building this same spartan style of spinning and casting rod in most of the Calstar Grafighter rod blanks along with the Seeker Hurcules and the Rainshadow RLJB blanks. If I'm out of a particular rod at the time you order on of these rods. We stock most of the rod blanks, the gimbals, reel seats, and guides the vast majority of the time .. if not in stock most rods can be crafted and shipped in around 10 days ... This rod is crafted right here in the USA by BaR-BaR Tackle, additional rods are available and special orders are always welcome. If you are the winning bidder of this rod we will place your name / and a fish or school decal on it at no additional charge.
