 | | | | The Bundy II by Selmer is the best selling entry level tenor saxophone in the world, and for good reason. The body design was the same as the famous
BUESCHER TRUTONE saxes, which were patented in 1914, and were so fine
that Sgurd Rascher, the world's finest player always used one. The mechanisms were redesigned to make the left hand little finger keys more ergonomic, and it is an excellent choice for beginning players.
I acquired this particular saxophone in 1994 and it was played almost daily until about 2002. It has the usual dings and scratches that a student always imparts on an entry instrument. There is a fair amount of leg rash on the left side of the bell as you can see in one of the pictures. However, mechanically this sax is tip top. All of the keys and mechanisms are smooth and easy to operate and all of the pads are in great shape, no leaking anywhere. The mouthpiece cork could use replacement and the buyer may want to get a more beginner-friendly mouthpiece, as I moved up though the years.
The sax comes with:
- Original hardshell case
- Some cleaning and maintenance accessories
- A neckstrap
- A lyre sheet music clip
- A reed protector
- A mouthpiece cover
- Six reeds
I'm selling this saxophone at NO RESERVE so someone is sure to get a great deal on this fine instrument. Thanks!
Addendum: I just realized that there isn't a ligature pictured in any of the photos, but it does come with a standard brass ligature. Also, in the pictures you can see a kind of haze on the chrome parts. That is just a protectant that I put on the sax before I stored it long term to prevent oxidation. It will wipe right off.
