This is a Celestron #93920 RS-232 serial cable compatible cable for Nexstar telescopes. This cable allows user to controll the celestron telescope from a computer. With appropriate software, this cable will enable your computer laptop or desktop to interface and control the telescope by pointing and clicking on sky maps shown on the computer monitor. Please note that some early version Nexstar 60/80/114 telescope are not supported by many software package. Please check with tech support of software supplier.

It is very simple and fun, these are the steps:

  • Configure the software similar to the way you configure the Autostar by entering the location (Longitude and Latitude) and time zone. The instruction to find you EXACT Longitude and Latitude of you address is included also. Yes, that is it. You can custom configure the software if you want but you can use it with just this simple setup.

  • Connect the Autostar to you computer with the cable set, a notebook computer if you want to be really portable outdoor.
  • You align you telescope the same way using the Autostar.
  • Activate the connection between the telescope and computer and you are ready to have fun.
Point, Click and make the Telescope Points

You simple select any object (star, planet, constellation) on the computer screen, click a button , and the telescope start "slewing" (telescope movement is call slewing). The telescope then point to the selected object and stop.

I have spent many hours to figure out how to install, setup and use this cable set to control the Celestron Autostar telescope. I have now simplified the entire process or setting up the telescope and computer for you. It will take you minutes. The step-by-step instruction save you hours of time on installation and setup the software. You can now enjoy your Celestron telescope and Autostar quickly and properly, You can start using your computer to control your telescope in about 5 minutes of install and setup (excluding the time you need to align your telescope).

This planetarium and telescope control software is a freeware. This a full version, un-crippled freeware with no trial or expiration period. NO upgrade is needed. The author Patrick Chevalley welcomes donation as you wish. However a donation is neither required or demanded to use this software. The seller has written permission from the author Patrick Chevalley to copy and distribute this freeware. However, the software in a compressed format must be download from the URL provided to you in the instruction e-booklet. The instruction e-booklet contain gives you all the information needed to download, install, setup and quick start instruction for the software. Please send email to request the e-booklet which will be delivered to you in HTML format via email attachment. The cable set include a custom configured DB-9 to RJ-11 adapter and cable. Shipping:

Combined Shipping:
Combined shipping is offered if your item ends with three days of each other. 99% of my items are on ebay EVERYDAY.

Please use the following rules to calculate combined shipping cost:
1) Use the highest shipping cost of all the items as the base shipping cost.
2) Add 50% of shipping cost for each additional item to the base shipping cost. 

Example:
Shipping cost of three items: $5, $7.50, $5.00

Base shipping cost (Highest of all items) = $7.50
Additional items (50% or each additional items) = $2.50 + $2.50 = $5.00

Total shipping cost = $7.50 + $5.00 = $12.50
