This is a very fine set of matched solid mahogany Chippendale style dining room chairs made by Baker Furniture. Six of the ten are from the late 1930s early 1940s and have an original finish. Four are very similar matched chairs that were restored to similar color. Set includes 8 side and 2 arm chairs. Each chair having a carved top crest carved with foliage and leaves with a pierced pretzal back splat. The 6 chairs, which consist of 4 side and 2 arm, have a serpentine shaped seat front and the 4 having a concave seat front, all 10 standing on square reeded legs with cross stretchers. Upholstery is in rough shape and will need to be redone. Highest quality and very well made. This is the time period where Baker was manufacturing some of the highest quality items available. Chairs measure 22 inches wide at seat X 37 inches high for the 4, 23 inches wide at seat X 37 inches high for the 6. Arm chairs measures 27 inches wide at the arms.
