Here's one you don't see every day. Though not many clocks are rare some just don't show up for sale too often. I believe this one fits that description. This is a Seth Thomas 8-bell Sonora chime clock in excellent original condition. The Seth book I have calls a similar clock the Chime Clock # 64 model although that one is only 14 inches tall. This clock is 18 1'/4 inches tall, 12 3/8 inches at the base, and has a depth of 8 3/8 inches. I believe they were manufactured in the teens and 1920's. The case is mahogany veneer with inlay. There are no scratches or gouges to mar the finish. The original finish has some crazing as can be seen in several of the photos. The silvered dial is 7 1/2 inches. There is some silver discoloration at the 1 and 2 as can be seen in the photo. The beveled dial glass is convex and I assume original to the clock. The 8 day movement has no missing or replacement parts. It was recently professionally cleaned and oiled and is in excellent working order. It plays either the Whittington or Westminster chimes on 8 bells at the quarter hour. It strikes properly. In looking over the clock closely I noticed that someone scratched... IV 1963 T... on the brass bezel below the 6. It's not very noticeable but it's there. This is a clock that has been well cared for over the years and is in beautiful original condition. A rare opportunity to purchase a hard to find clock. You may not get another chance to purchase one in this fine original condition. Email your questions or for additional photos. The clock weighs in at 22 pounds without any packing. I'll charge a flat fee of $ 65.00 for shipping and handling in the continental USA no matter what the Ebay calculator says. Every time I try to set a price through their calculator it come up differently. Insurance is determined by the final price and shipper. Wait until I send you an invoice at the end of the auction. Of course it may be picked up locally if you're not too far away.
