Paglia is a major breath of fresh air. First encountered her work in of all places a neuro-psych's office in SF and rushed out to buy her books. I can see why some women who profess to be feminists hate her, because she cuts to core and challenges readers to look at the big picture past and present. It is no easy read, as you may find yourself reading a chapter then setting the book down to think for awhile. But it is a book that will not only grab your attention but will cause you to search out the other authors she speaks of like Nietzsche,Bronte,Dickinson, Oscar Wilde,and Rousseau. Not to mention she will peak your interest in drag queens, catholic saints and a montly crew of other wonders. This is a must read for the literate amongst us.
