The item being offered is a Sheaffer Sentinel Lifetime lever fill fountain pen circa 1949. The barrel is black with gold plated fill lever. The cap is 14K gold filled with vertical lines, stamped 1/10 14K Gold Filled / Made in U.S.A.. The barrel is stamped W.A. Sheaffer Pen Co. / Fort Madison, Iowa, U.S.A. / Made in U.S.A. / 5000. The 14K two tone Triumph (wrap-around) nib is stamped Sheaffer's / Lifetime / Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. /  Made in U.S.A. / 14 K. An unusual feature of this pen is that the Sheaffer white dot is at the bottom point of the barrel. The  measures approximately 5⅛" capped, 5¾" posted. It is in very good condition with no cracks in the barrel. There are some light scratches consistent with use and age. The ink sac will need to be replaced
