ENJOY THE SUBDUED COLOURS
OF ELIZABETH SHERRY BUFANO'S "SHIRT BUTTONS"

This image shifts with each inspection; the subdued colours belie a fairly complicated juxtaposition of patterns.  The border is particularly striking.

  • "Shirt Buttons" is a limited edition lithograph on artistpaper.
  • It is hand signed by the artist, E. S. Bufano.
  • This piece measures approximately   29 X 22 inches (with border),   16 X 12 inches (image alone).
  • The lovely integrated border would lend itself to a quite simple frame.

Elizabeth Sherry Bufano was born in 1951  and earned her A.B.F.A. in printmaking at the Philadelphia College of Art. She finished her studies at the Tyler School of Art.  Elizabeth has continually demonstrated her passion not for just art, but for children as well. She managed a workshop for inner-city children and taught summer session art classes at the Chester County School System. From there, she began her own "Long Swamp Studio" a children's drawing class. Bufano uses many methods to create her art. Her media include lithographs, serigraphs, etchings, watercolour and various mixed media. Her works were featured in the Philadelphia Print Club's 60th Anniverary Exhibition in 1975 as well as by the Pennsylvania Print Club in 1978. She has participated in various art shows and television appearances demonstrating her talent in the art of printmaking and creating etchings.
