This Great EMMETT KELLY JR Clown Autographed HAT is perched on a glass display head that sits inside a large, professional museum display case.
This is a beautiful COLLECTION from EMMETT KELLY JR, one of the world's most famous Clowns!
EMMETT KELLY JR was born in 1924...he was the son of Circus Clown Emmett Kelly Sr., and Eva Moore, and eventually became the most beloved circus clown ever.
He was a Navy veteran who served during World War II in Okinawa and Iwo Jima.
Encouraged and trained by his Dad, he donned the "Weary Willie" costume and make-up that his father created. Emmett Jr signed with Eastman Kodak to appear in their New York World's Fair pavilion in 1964. This four year employment with Kodak promoted his fame.
He later became the "Silent Spokesman and Ambassador of Goodwill" and visited many children's hospitals throughout the United States as well as performing at the White House.
His hobbies included model train collecting. He was also a race car enthusiast. He was very impressed with the wild west history of Tombstone, Arizona and eventually made it his home. He died there in 2006 from pneumonia.

Not only did Emmett hand paint this hat and use it in his performances, he said that he cut the top open because he pulled his hair through it, so it hung out of the hat.

This original signed Emmett Kelly Jr CLOWN HAT is displayed inside this Museum Display Case that measures approximately 48" Tall x 18" Deep x 14" Wide.
The Base is a composite wood and the Glass Case is constructed of a very thick glass that is removable from the base...this was actually obtained from the Florida International Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida.
The overall exhibit must be shipped in 2 oversized boxes and the shipping for this display case is $175 via UPS...it can also be picked up locally in the Tampa, FL area...you can also opt not to take the case and we will simply deduct $175 from the final price you pay for this collection...
