For auction we have a distressed old 6 by 7¾ inch toleware tray.  This hand painted metal tray is signed by Georges Briard, a very collected 1940' / 1950's artist. This is one of his earlier pieces signed by him, not stamped like his later work. Beautiful rich coloring showing a red and black rooster in the retro style, surrounded by hand painted accent pieces, on a gold leaf background. Used condition with a rust patch on the outer left side and general wear. Still some nice strong paint and his original signature on the back.
