1 gram packets - One 1 gram packet of Silica Gel will remove the moisture from a container of about 50 cu. in. (maximum of about three cups in size).  This is the size of a small box or jar, for example a box that measures 5" x 5" x 2". I frequently provide this size packet to stamp and coin collectors. Use this small bag of desiccant to protect your precious collectible, be it seeds, stamps, coins, trading cards, antique jewelry, silver, etc. 

Helpful Hint?  I do a LOT of Christmas baking and to keep my crisp cookies from getting soft and soggy, I put a couple of desiccant packets in the storage container until they're ready to be served or given as gifts.  Amazing how fresh they stay! (NOTE: Don't place directly on food item, although completely non-toxic, this is not an edible item.)

5 gram packets - One 5 gram packet of Silica Gel will remove the moisture from a container of about 237 cu. in. (maximum of about 1 gallon in size). This is the size of a box that measures approximately 5" x 5" x 10".  I frequently provide this size packet to both underwater and land photographers. Use this packet of desiccant to protect your camera, video equipment, autograph collection, gun case, safe/safe deposit box, time capsule, overseas shipping, etc.

Helpful Hint?  When we vacation in a humid area, like Florida, I keep one packet in my camera case to make sure moisture doesn't collect on the lens.

Helpful Hint?  I keep one packet in our home safe along with a Moisture-indicating card. On the rare occation that I open the safe, I can see at a glance the humidity level inside the safe.
