Here are some of the built in stitches I did with this machine immediately prior to listing it.


 

as you can see, this machine is in excellent physical shape with only a few nicks in the paint... It also works perfectly.  It has been cleaned and oiled and tested. 
The Singer 401a is capable of many built in decorative stitches which themselves can be further manipulated to increase the built in functions.  Additionally, the included black embroidery cams make it more versatile by adding even more stitches.

The machine can do double needle stitching with two ordinary needles.  If you are new to the 401a, you will find it an exciting new, AND vintage addition to your sewing room.  The Singer 401a experts know its value as a part of an important collection.
