Small All-Wood Prayer Wheel Tibetan Buddhist - Nepal

A small, all-wood hand-held prayer wheel, measuring 6 inches long. This handmade Tibetan Buddhist prayer wheel has Tibetan Sanskrit writing carved into the wheel. It spells out "Om Mani Padme Hung", the Tibetan Buddhist meditation prayer. There is no paper prayer inside the wheel; just carved into the outside. The handle is also turned wood.  The wheel is spun by the weight of a wooden weight that pulls the wheel in a clock-wise rotation.The belief is that as the wheel spins, the prayers float outwards and upwards. This type of prayer wheel is still in use in Nepal today. This is a new, unused prayer wheel. It's been painted and then "antiqued", but it is new.
