Chronic scratching is a problem for many pet owners. Even if you are successful in breaking your cats of the habit, their nails can still unintentionally scratch your surfaces in your house and your skin, not to mention scratching each other during fights. Fortunately there's a solution: Soft Claws for cats. Soft Claws are also an excellent alternative to declawing your cats.

Soft Claws are easy to apply and are completely safe and humane. Soft Claws are vinyl nail caps that are applied with an adhesive on to your cat's existing nails and they will NOT interfere with your cat's normal claw extraction and retraction. Best of all is most cats tolerate them extremely well, and they are fashionable!
Soft Claws come in a variety of colors and sizes. Each pack contains 40 (FOURTY) nail caps, 6 (SIX) applicator tips, 2 (TWO) tubes of special adhesive and complete instructions.

: Kittens up to 5lbs generally need Kitten Size. Soft Claws will fit most kittens by the time they reach 4 months. Some kittens can wear them as early as 3 months. To test, try a nail cap on your kitten's paw without using any adhesive. If it looks too big you can trim the base of the Soft Claw to make it smaller so it will fit better. Now retry the fitting. Once you have the size right, use the adhesive.
: Some kittens will fit small if they are growing fast or a naturally large breed. Small adults generally fit small size.
: Very large boned and large breed cats will likely fit large. Maine Coons are an example of a very large cat and will generally wear large.
Common Questions and Answers
Q. A "Half Pack"? Sounds fishy. How do you do this?
A. The Half Packs are not opened and come sealed. I get some Soft Claws caps in 20 count sealed bags (original manufacturer bag and seal). I also get them in 40 count sealed bags. When I am forced to use a 40 count bag I simply separate 20 caps to either side of the sealed bag, then I use a retail sealer that makes a double seal down the center of the bag. This converts the unopened bag into 2 unopened bags, each containing 20 caps. So each half pack is never opened at all.
Q. Are the Half Packs CLS (Cleat Lock System) caps?
A. Some are and others are not. The manufacturer currently only produces Clear, Black, Red, Blue and Pink in Sizes Small, Medium and Large in the new CLS design. The refill packs they produce are behind in this and not all are in the CLS design or are just coming out in CLS. So there is no guarantee you will get CLS caps, and if you pick a color/size not uet produced with CLS then you will not get it for sure. If you cannot live without CLS and expect to get them with the Half Pack, then you would be happier not buying a half pack at this time.
Q. How long do Soft Claws last?
A. About 4 to 6 weeks. They will fall off once your cats nails have grown enough. As they come off one at a time, simply retrim the nail and put a new one on. This is not a guarantee they will stay on that long. Some cats may pull them off right away. You need to make sure you apply them correctly, prevent your cat from pulling them off before the adhesive dries and hope that your cat accepts them.
Q. Will Soft Claws stop my cat from scratching furniture?
A. No. Soft Claws is not a way to train your cat to not damage furniture, rather they cover your cat's nails so when they scratch something there is no nail out to do any harm. You should use Soft Claws in addition to training your cat to not scratch your furniture. It would be a good idea to also purchase a proper sizal scratching post that is at least tall enough to allow your cat to stand up and scratch it. Do remember that scratching is natural to felines and done to mark territory, get exercise, maintain their claws and for the fun of it. It is far easier to allow your cat to scratch their own post than to try to prevent them from scratching anything.
Q. May I use Soft Claws on my outdoor cats?
A. You can, but you should not. Soft Claws will cover their nails and prevent them from defending themselves or climbing trees to escape other animals, possibly placing them in a dangerous situation.
Q. What if I buy the wrong size?
A. No problem. When you receive your package of Soft Claws do NOT open the sealed bag. Seperate one cap in the bag and hold it up to your cat's claw so you can see if it will fit. If it is obviously the wrong size you may send it back and we will exchange it for another size of the same color.
Do not open the glue, applicator tip bag or caps bag. Be sure to send it in a padded mailer so it remains in new condition. As long long as the Soft Claws are returned in the original package, undamaged, unopened and in NEW, clean and original condition, we are happy to exchange them for a $2.50 S/H fee. Contact me within 7 days of your receipt of the claws to arrange the exchange and get an RA number.
Q. Do cats mind having Soft Claws put on them?
A. That depends on your cat(s). If your cat gives you a hard time when you attempt to trim their nails, they are likely going to be just as difficult to put Soft Claws on. If your cat(s) do not like you messing with their paws they may not like you applying Soft Claws. Every cat may be different. With difficult cats I find that giving them a treat after I complete a few nails, helps train them to be tolerant of me trimming their nails or applying Soft Claws. Just remember to be pleasant and speak warmly to your cat(s) while trimming their nails and applying the Soft Claws. If the experience proves to me more pleasant than terrifying, they are more likely to allow you to repeat the process later.
Q. Another seller on eBay is claiming they were the first to offer the CLS system. How come you were behind in offering them?
A. The other seller is telling you a half truth. When the CLS design came out they came out. If a seller happened to have 2 weeks worth of stock in the original nonCLS caps then they had to sell them off before they could start selling the new ones. Unless the other seller on eBay keeps a zero day supply (gets fresh stock daily and just enough to ship that day) then they did not begin selling the CLS design till they ran out of stock on the nonCLS of each size and color they stock. When the CLS design came out I had between a 3 day and 2 week stock level on each size and color. So were they really the "first"? Unlikely. It is more likely that several sellers on eBay started to sell them about the same time. So depending on the size and color, I would guess several sellers tied.
