Small sized sterling silver trilobite, molded from an actual specimen of Elrathia kingi from the Wheeler Shale, Wheeler Amphitheater near Marjum Pass in the House Range, Millard County, Utah.  It is near Antelope Springs and the area is often called by that name.  The silver trilobites measure 11.1mm long x 8.9mm wide x 2mm thick, and weigh about 1.2 grams each.  This is the same size I use for the earrings.  It has been mounted on a sterling silver ring band.  The ring shank is 4.1mm wide and .7mm thick on the back.

This ring is a size 7.  If you need this ring made a larger or smaller size, I can resize it for you.  Ring sizing is available for 1/2 what we normally charge in our shop ($20.00) at our eBay Store for $10.00.  After purchasing the ring, simply click on the link, purchase the ring sizing, and tell me what size to make the ring.  This will not delay shipping, as I will size it within 24 hours week days, or on Monday if you purchase it on Saturday or Sunday.

Trilobites, sometimes called "butterflies of the sea" thrived in ancient seas long before dinosaurs roamed the earth, long even before the first fish swam.  Between 600 million and 250 million years ago they thrived in astonishing numbers in shallow warm Cambrian seas.  They range in size from less than 1/4" to over 2 feet long.  They were the very first advanced animal life form to appear in the fossil record.  They belong to the phylum Arthropoda, and are related to crabs and lobsters.  And like crabs and lobsters do, they shed their hard external shells as they grew.  Well preserved fossils of their delicately sculpted shells have fascinated amateur and professional collectors for years.
