Small Victorian Metal Framed Wall Plaque Home Poem

Up for auction...a wonderful ~ Unique ~ ANTIQUE~ Victorian wall plaque!

Measures approx. 6.5" x 2.5"

The framed paper Victorian poem was written by an unknown author and reads,

A house is built of brick and stone,

Of sills and posts and piers;

But a home is built of loving deeds

That stand a thousand years. 

The border of the print shows a cozy cottage with smoke coming from the chimney, white picket fence, flowers in the garden and a woman with a long dress and bonnet standing at the gate. The frame is either brass or brass colored metal.   Print is in great condition, showing a bit of discoloration in the midsection and what looks like a tiny hole above the cottage.  frame shows a few rubs on one edge from age and from having been in storage.

This is a unique decor item.........perfect for any special or smaller place.....and dates back to the 1900's to 1930's ..... my estimation....it may be even older than this.

  This item has been stored in a smoke and pet free facility for many years, but I don't always know the history behind some of these things prior to it's being in my family's possession. Please ask questions before you bid and I'll be happy to answer them to the best of my ability!
