Up for auction is a FANTASTIC vintage Coro COROCRAFT (Coro-Craft) figural STERLING Silver and LUCITE Jelly Belly PIN or Brooch in the shape of a walking FOX - fresh out of a recent Estate .. a very RARE and SELDOM SEEN piece of Designer Costume Jewelry - one of the HARDER TO FIND Jellies .. designed by Adolf Katz - circa 1940's - advertised in June 1945 VOGUE .. INTRICATE detailing - SHARP mold - GOLD wash to the Sterling - Clear RHINESTONE accenting - Red Stone Eye - ANIMATED pose .. see photos below .. WHIMSICAL and ELEGANT with a Mid Century Modern ART DECO flair .. a MUST for the discriminating collector - offered with NO RESERVE! VERY GOOD condition - very little wear to the Gold wash - secure Pin closure - most if not all of the Rhinestones appear to be intact - prong on underside of Fox's belly that holds the Jelly Belly appears to have broken off at one time (there's some slight glue residue around the edge of the Lucite and bezel - probably used to hold the Jelly in place ) - could use a good cleaning (I'll leave that up to the winning bidder) - some typical minor alligatoring to the appearance of the Lucite (visible upon close examination - mentioned for accuracy) .. TERRIFIC design - a SWEET piece! .. measures about 3" x 1 1/2" .. marked on the back with the Pegasus logo tag that reads 'Sterling CORO-CRAFT' .. guaranteed OLD. |
