It is a white, crystalline powder with a slight sulfurous odor and taste. Very low toxicity. Soluble in water having a density of 1.48. It's uses include photography, wine making, dyes, textiles, food preservative, bleaching wool, reducing agent, antiseptic, sterlizing in the brewing industry, copper and brass plating, analytical reagent, pharmaceutical aid as an antioxidant, and dietary supplement. This material is shipped in compliance with USPS Publication 52, ORM-D. Packaged in a wide mouth polyethylene jar with screw cap. Shipping $7.50.
