DESCRIPTION: This Miken Recoil 180 pushes the limit to the 98 mph. For the Recoil 180 to be ASA certified the bat can not propel the ball faster than 98 mph. 34 Length 27 ounce. Balanced swing weight. 14.5 inch barrel. Thin Handle. 100% Composite. Ballistic Crosslinked System provided 300% higher elongation for increased resilience at impact and unmatched barrel rebound. Dynamic Flex Ratio 180 increased handle recoil provides added distance and lower swing speeds. Extended Sweetspot Design. Premium synthetic leather grip. PERSONAL REVIEW: We tested the Miken RECOIL ASA model on 5-19-2007. We tested a 28oz model on a 300 ft. field. The temp. was about 75 degrees and there was a slight wind blowing out to left center. We used a mix of Miken NRG 375 & 525 compression softballs. The bat was a little bit tight out of the wrapper like most ASA bats but started to really lossen up after 60 - 70 hits. Once it did break in it was a really impressive bat. I'd say it outhits the Freak 98 & NRG 500 easily. This is Miken's best ASA produced bat since the original Freak. The line drives were hard and the bat had no problem hitting the ball out at 300 feet. The sweet spot is enormous and is the #1 feature to this bat. It has a 14.5 inch barrel with over half of that being sweet spot. The Miken RECOIL ASA model is without a doubt a top performer for ASA play and it also hit the low compession balls extremely well.  Don't have the time or resources to break in your bat before your first game, then let the professionals do it for you. We will break in your bat by hitting 100 softballs that are pitched from a pitching machine. The balls will be pitched at regular slo pitch speed with an arc of 6 TO 8 ft. We will rotate the bat so the entire barrel breaks in evenly. The Factory shrink wrap paper will be left on the bat during the break in process. This will not void your warranty like rolling your bat in a machine would. For Slow Pitch and Fastpitch Softball Bats the Softball used will be a 12 inch Dudley Thunder 44 core 400 compression. For Baseball Bats the ball used will be the Rawlings Senior Little League Leather Baseballs. DISCLAIMER: We are among the top Softball Bat retail stores in the nation and this is a natural break in process which we have been told by all the bat companies whose bats that we sell that they have no problem with this process and that it will not void your warranty with them like Rolling a bat would. The $20 fee is for just 1 bat. If you order more then 1 bat at a time then you will need to make sure to adjust the quanity to match how many bats you have in the order.
