Have you ever wanted to write a song that would have real commercial value?
Here is your opportunity!
Do you have a great song concept...but are at a loss as to what to do now?
Here is your opportunity!
Have you tried in vain to submit song materials only to have them rejected?
Here is your opportunity!
Perhaps it is time for you to collaborate on your next song project!
I have written many hundreds of songs over the years and have had some success with them. They have been recorded, published and distributed to radio stations throughout the country.
I have been very cautious over the years about submitting my materials to the business types in Nashville and Los Angeles. I have had several of my songs and song ideas end up as credits for others but this is what happens when one's materials are not fully protected.
As a word of caution, do not ever perform your un-protected song in public!
I made this mistake many years ago while I was performing on Venice Beach in California...!
A fellow stopped by where I was performing on the beach and asked me to sing...several times my song "Dark Red Wine"!
Like a fool......I performed the song again and it was not long afterwards... that a song made the airways that had basically the same melody and in some cases...the same lyrics!
That song became a major hit for a major artist!
My loss was his gain!

I have worked with many songwriters and musicians over the years and some have gone on to realize significant success in their career pursuits!
Pete Anderson, guitarist and producer was one of my lead guitar players while I was performing in Los Angeles in the mid-eighties. Gary Morse, now a studio musician in Nashville and a guitar player for Brooks and Dunn was one of my steel guitar players in that time-period as well. Both Pete and Gary have gone on to work with many performers achieving critical acclaim in the music business. I knew both of these guys when they were struggling musicians in the Los Angeles music scene...and I always felt that big things were in their future! Afterall, Dwight Yoakam became a big name in the business and now Gary is working on tours with Brooks and Dunn!
Pete Anderson and Gary Morse have become "tops" in their respective fields of endeavor and having known them personally...I can honestly say that both of them deserve their respective credits!

I am working on the song "Twenty-Nine More Men" while sitting on the north shore of Lake Superior. Duluth harbor can be seen in the background!
My song was the first Edmund Fitzgerald song!
Gordon Lightfoot wrote and recorded his song "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" about one year later and Gordon's song became a classic!
