This auction is for an original PlayStation 2, model SCPH-30001. This is a used system, but is guaranteed to work. The auction includes the AC Power cable, the A/V cable, two DualShock2, and two games. The two games are Maximo Ghosts To Glory and Warriors of Might and Magic. The PlayStation2 is equipped with a 128-bit Emotion Engine processor that enables lightning-fast gameplay and impressive graphics power. The console builds on its home entertainment value by doubling as a DVD player and accommodating most of the original PlayStation's vast library of games. PS2 is known for its excellent selection of titles for the older gamer. PlayStation 2's 300 Mhz processor delivers enhanced clarity and mesmerizing graphics. What's more, the PlayStation 2 doubles as a CD/DVD player. It also plays most of the original PlayStation games.Step into the 128-bit universe brought to you by PlayStation 2. You'll enjoy the look, sound, and feel of unbelievable, near-cinematic realism as you play. PlayStation 2 offers the most advanced games across every genre, DVD video playback as a standard feature, Dolby Digital 5.1 theater-quality sound, and the ability to play the immense catalog of PlayStation games. A modern version of Capcom's Ghosts 'n' Goblins series, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory is one of those rare games that offers a solid update of a classic arcade title. This 3-D platform game delivers all the charm of its 2-D side-scrolling ancestor with current gameplay mechanics. In his latest adventure, Maximo returns to his kingdom to find it in disarray. His formerly trusted advisor, Achille, has banished the four sorceresses that govern the land and forced Maximo's true love to marry him. To save the day, Maximo must run, jump, and fight his way through five environments spanning more than 25 levels. Like his predecessors, Maximo must constantly worry about upgrading his armor and weapons. Play the game skillfully and you'll have a heavily armed fighting machine. Take too many hits and Maximo will be fighting villains in his heart-covered boxers. Graphics-wise the game is very strong. The animations are smooth, the textures are rich, and the environments are detailed. The sound is an absolute joy, the effects are humorous, and the music is fantastic. Tommy Tallarico Studios has done an excellent job taking the melodies from the original game and creating updated variations that are equally memorable. Although some will find the gameplay repetitive and many will think the boss fights are too easy, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory offers an excellent 15 to 20 hours of platform goodness. Warriors of Might and Magic returns us to Enroth (last visited in the lackluster Crusaders of Might and Magic for the PlayStation console), and gives us a world filled to the brim with deadly dungeons populated by foul creatures. You portray Alleron, a warrior accused of the crime of necromancy who's forced to wear a hideous mask that stays in place by digging its talons into your face (shudder). Then, to add insult to injury, you are flung into the Pit of the Accursed and must fight your way out to break the curse and remove the mask. The drawbacks are obvious at first glance. The graphics are a little under par for the PS2. Everything looks kind of washed out and drab, and the animations are jerky and stilted. Certainly the PS2 is capable of better than this. The rest of the game consists of fighting, jumping puzzles, more fighting, magic use, and collecting better armor and weapons by way of, well, more fighting. The puzzles are fairly easy--except perhaps the jumping puzzles--but the combat is fast, furious, and fun. As combat is 90 percent of this game, it's easy to recommend Warriors of Might and Magic to people who are itching for action. |
