Album notes
This 36-odd minute-long CD purports to consist of tracks from the first Spacemen 3 recording session in 1984, but so many different versions of their early songs exist that claims about the recording dates of most should taken with a grain or two of salt. That said, this collection marks the first occasion that most of these versions have been available on CD--most of the "official studio versions" eventually appeared on the band's first two albums.
Of particular note are the seven minutes of instrumental, raw, driving groove "T.V. Catastrophe" (a.k.a. "O.D. Catastrophe"), the alternate mix of "Walkin' With Jesus," which cleans up the sound considerably while amping up the echo, and "Fixin' to Die," a weird gospel-like number with chanted backing vocals. Spacemen 3 fans usually fall into two groups; those who like the harsh, garage-rock of the band's early recordings, and those that prefer the smoother, tranced-out vibe of their later recordings. This collection is essential for fans of the former.

The booklet and back tray insert are in near mint condition. The cd has no scratches or surface marks of any kind and is also in near mint condition. Sorry, but payment is by PayPal only. On May 11, 2009, the United States Post Office raised their rates and changed their shipping policies for foreign countries, so buyers outside the United States please contact me for assistance, liking finding out exact shipping costs for your country.
