| Basswood (Tilia
americana), or American linden,
is a great, soft North American wood to carve. This piece is dry
and light. It has been rough surfaced
on four sides. There is some white spalted patches, as well as some
associated dark colored streaks. The finished product will only
be limited by your imagination. Check

| Smith Lumber is a small, family-owned business.
The current owner is the fifth generation of the Smith family to operate
the sawmill, performing complete lumbering operations from tree felling
to final milling. Most trees are cut on small tracts of timber, with
preservation of the forest community being a primary concern. Many
