Spalted Basswood Carving Blank |
| Basswood (Tilia americana), or American linden, is a great, soft North American wood to carve. This piece is dry and light. It has been rough surfaced on four sides. There is some white spalted patches, as well as some associated dark colored streaks. There is also wane on the sapwood side. The finished product will only be limited by your imagination.
