Hand Beaded African
Zulu Trade Bead Art Plate/Trivet
A New Series of Plates Influenced by Picasso's Work

Plate has an 11" diameter.
The “Picasso Plate” series represents a unique
interpretation of the work of the great master. In Cape Town, South
Africa, an exhibition
was presented of Picasso's works that were
influenced by traditional African art. Zulu artists were taken to this
exhibition and asked to interpret the influence of Picasso’s African
interpretations on their traditional art forms. Voila, we are able to
present to art collectors the first two of this unique series of usable
art. (Each is sold separately.) Glass beads on an epoxy protected black
felt pad, protects surfaces from water and scratches. Use them as
display art and/or as trivets or placemats.
Note:
We have several of each and, as with all handmade art, there may be
slight variations. This adds to the uniqueness of handmade art versus
identical machine made pieces. All pieces are made by the same
designer. Enjoy these as we do. We look forward to offering the next in
this series as they are developed.
The
Zulu Tribe of South Africa are world renowned for their hand beaded
work. We work with several different cooperatives in South Africa which
are using native crafts to help women and HIV positive individuals to
be financially independent.
A
great gift for yourself or someone else! No 2 are exactly alike!
