I have been using a Spyder on the left hand end of the spindle on my South Bend Heavy 10 for several years. The only drawback was, the gear cover had to be removed in order to use it and while in use. I have now designed a spindle spyder that can be used with all covers in place. I have two South Bend 10L lathes. One is the older single tumbler with the one piece gear cover and the other is the newer double tumbler with the two piece cover and this spyder will fit on both with the covers in place. I know some buyers have used this spyder on the South Bend 13" lathe also. I have sold several of these on ebay. My feedback will tell you how they are accepted. All spindles are not the same therefore at the end of the auction I will email you and ask for the diameter of the left hand end of your spindle and also the distance from the gear to the end of the spindle. You won't know how you got along without it. The Atlas & Craftsman Spyder is threaded 1&1/4" X 20tpi and threads right on to your spindle. Total satisfaction assured. Kenny
As of late I have custom made Spyders for Jet, Atlas, other South Bend's and can fit many others. If there is some room on the left hand end of your spindle. We can probably make one fit. This is usually handled with a phone call. Send me a message and tell me what you need before the Auction ending.
