Outside is made of 600D polyester, taped seams, waterproof and breathing, liner is 2/3 cotton, 1/3 polyester. Two front closures with nylon lining against rubbing, leg splits, cross closures, and removable butt straps & tail cover. Harry's Horse blankets are among Europe's highest rated blankets. They consistently end up in the top of 'Consumer Report's Europeans equivalent and are considered 'best buys'. Measuring for European blankets is slightly different. The best way to do it, is to use a soft tape, start at the middle of the chest, over the flank, to half way the back end. Then subtract 4 inches. Please see table below. Marieke's Comments: Manufacturer details say the waterproof value is 2000 wr/wp, breathing capacity is 2000 mvp. Sounds good to me ;) Now what really matters to me how 'horse proof' they are. I put one on my destructor gelding, who has gone through 4 turnouts in the 08/09 winter so far. I LOVE the fit, it comes up the neck nicely, with no obvious holes, but is not restrictive. It comes around the back nice, so it basically covers the blankets nicely. Now the true test will be time, but as of 4/1/09 we are on week 6, longer then all the previous ones. Under the mud it still looks in great shape, dirty, but almost untouched. I'm impressed.
