What we have for auction this week brought to you by the Grand Antique Mall in Cincinnati, Ohio is this Spring Lake Sour Mash Bourbon Whiskey Jug. Cincinnati, Ohio pottery maker Knowles, Taylor and Knowles porcelain jug. Circa 1928.
Meredith's Diamond Club Pure Rye Whiskey had a marriage of convenience - that of an East Liverpool, Ohio pottery company, Knowles, Taylor and Knowles and a former laborer - G.W. Meredith. In 1890, when the distillery was established K.T. & K. was the largest potter in America, so it was only natural that the two combine their products.
Measures 7" tall, 5 1/2" wide w/handle and 3" diameter bottom.
Thre is a small crack in the handle (see photo) but no missing pieces or chips. The piece is in very good condition for it's age. There is no liquid in the jug. Writing is burgundy in color.
