St Croix 36-80 lb Spinning Rod 6ft 9in Blk & Gold

This is a St Croix SC ll 36-80lb 6 foot 9 in big game spinning rod.  This is a true custom rod you wont see anywhere else,  it comes with our exclusive triangular fore grip and the gold and black Titanium coated  Zirconium guides we have manufactured for us.  

This terrific rod blank is manufactured by St Croix.   This blank is 100%  graphite. This gives you a very light, very sensitive, and very powerful rod.  The rod starts with a marine grade black aluminum gimbal.

The rear grip is a smallish diameter EVA foam .. we like the smaller diameter rear grips .. it make it much easier to hold your rod for long periods of time.  

The reel seat is the Fuji heavy duty saltwater reel seat, it was chosen for this set of rods because the graphite body, light and nice to the touch, it wont get slick or cold or hot. This is the same reel seat used on stand up or boat rods .. so plenty strong enough for the big game spinning rods.

The fore grip is our exclusive shaped triangular 10 inch grip.  The  design is smallish in diameter for triangular grip it will allow for ease of holding for long periods of time. The triangular shape also helps in controlling the rod from twisting and turning when you are hooked up.  

The 7 guides and tip are also manufactured for us by Batson, the frames are manufactured with 316 stainless steel 2 x black chrome plated for exceptional corrosion resistance. The inserts are Zirconium, plated with Titanium, this is how you  get the gold color,  The Zirconium inserts are extremely hard, smooth and dissipates heat well. Perfect for braided or mono line, they  also look good.  Each guide is under wrapped with black thread to insure no guide to blank contact. The they are attached with 4 layers of C size thread for maximum strength.  The guides are black with gold inserts ... the first guide on this rod is and over sized 50 mm .. this guide is large enough to allow the line to flow off  large reels with the larger spools with a minimum of drag when entering the guides. This will allow for longer cast.  

The  rod is wrapped in black with a pale gold trim .. a great match for the guides.  These  rods are powerful, beautiful and functional. They have been used for jigging and casting popper to YFT with great success. This rod can be use in a variety of ways for a variety of big game species.  

This is the St Croix SC ll rod blank .. it is and all graphite rod .. graphite rods are incredibly light, powerful  and sensitive .. a true pleasure to fish with. If you currently have graphite rods you know this and you are aware they do need a level of care that composite or eglass rods don't require. You cannot high stick these rods. You can break them if you do. This is just a friendly reminder.
