A large and wonderful piece collected in Mandalay, Central Burma. Solid piece of Teak covered in multiple layers of lacquer. The Monk sits atop a lotus throne. The burgundy color of the robe is typical of colors worn by Monks in the region. There are also traces of gild. The detail in the face and robe is extraordinary. The hand mudra is that of the Vajrapradama Mudra. The fingers of the hands are crossed. This is the gesture of unshakeable confidence. The facial expression is peaceful and serene, commensurate with the mudra. Excellent Condition. Dimensions: 27 inches high X 12” deep and 15” wide at the base PLEASE SEE SIMILAR ITEMS IN OUR Ebay STORE |
