These earrings dangle from sterling silver lever backs, and feature a slightly flared and curved textured sterling 'shield', adorned with a 22K gold cross and bezel-set oval blue sapphire. The overall size of the dangle is 31.6mm long, 10.3mm wide at the top and 14.6mm wide at the bottom. The dangle surface is finely textured to give a matte finish, with a highly polished 1.5mm border, which provides a nice definition of the unusual shape. The 22 karat gold cross is 15.8mm x 12mm in size, and textured with an interesting cross-hatch pattern. The 6mmx5mm blue sapphires are bezel set about 3mm below the cross, with an open back to allow light to pass thru the lovely stones, which are a medium blue, just a little darker than the highly-prized 'Ceylon' blue shade, This is a very striking, elegant and unusual design, destined to be treasured and handed down as a family heirloom!
