Gorgeous and rare antique Stieff "Williamsburg Shell" sterling silver flatware service for ten in excellent original condition. Purchased from renowned retailer Gumps in San Francisco in the early 1970s and in one family since new. The 59 piece set includes ten six-piece place settings (except butter knives - only 7). This set is in overall excellent condition and is ready to be used with minor polishing. The set shows moderate use and has obviously been well cared for. Always stored in their original felt rolls. Very heavy, substantial pieces that are extremely well made by this world renowned company. The set includes the following pieces: 10 dinner knives (10"); 10 dinner forks (7 1/2"); 10 small forks (6 1/2"); 10 soup spoons (6 7/8"); 10 teaspoons ( 6"); 7 butter knives (7"); 1 berry spoon (5 1/2"): 1 serving fork (10"). The set weighs 1878 grams for all of the pieces except the knives. The knives with sterling handles and steel blades weigh 1574 grams. Fully signed and hallmarked. Comes with the original felt rolls.
