Up for auction is an early 1960s Super Sonic Jetliner. It is a Japan made tin friction toy with a button lever that opens and closes the entry door with a waving stewardess and takes 2 "D" size batteries for the light in the nosecone to illuminate by a switch under the plane.Fuselage length is 24" and wing span is 19". A very unique design for a passenger jet at the time with the military type canopies. This toy is listed in the 1963 Sears Christmas catalog and is just a beautiful looking aircraft toy!! I had this toy when I was a kid back in 1961 but I had the white version, there were three versions of this jet, white, orange and a black bomber military type(same basic airframe design). With the exception of a couple of wing dings, this plane looks almost brand new and comes with the original boarding ladder!! I have seached high and low for an original box for this plane on ebay since ebay started, and could never find one, until about four months ago I was lucky enough to win a kinda rough box in an ebay auction. I decided to take the box to a graphics company and have the artwork repaired and have a few of the boxes produced, not to make a bunch of money (and it was VERY expensive to have done!) but just because I'm kind of a sentimental nut like that, I'm sure some of you can relate! Anyway, this plane comes with a perfect and I mean Exact reproduction box from the original.Beautiful artwork!! Email me if you need additional photos.I have 4 more of these boxes in case anyone is interested, send me an email.I will be auctioning the black bomber version of this plane this week as well,so keep an eye on my auctions. I will only ship this item within the 48 continental United States. I will contact the winning bidder at auctions end with shipping info, and winning bidder should contact me as well within 3 days of auction end. I do not accept Pay-Pal. I do accept Money Orders and Personal Checks (will ship item when check clears). I will combine shipping charges for multiple items won. All items sold as is. Email me with any questions, and happy bidding!
