Swamp Milkweed's scientific name is Ascepias incarnate.

Thriving in full sun environments, and soil types ranging from sand to clay, Swamp Milkweed prefers moist soils along sloughs, sedge meadows, marshes, and is commonly seen along roadside ditches.

Growing from 3 to 5 feet tall, Swamp Milkweed, like Common Milkweed, is the home to the Monarch butterfly, which lays its eggs in the seeds of the plant. Swamp Milkweed blooms a cluster of flowers with colors ranging from pink to purple and blooms from June through August.

These seeds are hand-picked from the plant's native habitat. Hand picking ensures that the seeds are picked when they are ripe and also ensures that your packet is filled with seed from this plant ONLY.

These are not grown in a nursery. To preserve their quality the seeds are taken from the plant as it grows in the wild.
