"Tal"
- The Dew -
by Adam Rhine

"Dew - let it drop sweetly on the blessed land, with the delicacies of heaven sate us with blessing, to enlighten us from amid the darkness..." (Traditional Prayer for Dew during Passover)

The word "Tal" means "Dew" in Hebrew. On the first day of Pesach (Passover), a springtime Holy Festival, Jews pray to G-d for dew. The droplets found every morning represent rejuvination and rebirth, and remind us of Creation. It is also equally as important to never take any blessings for granted however small, like the dew on the ground each morning.

This original design, by Judaica Artist Adam Rhine, combines the intense detail of ancient illuminated manuscripts with a contemporary aesthetic and spirit. The work was created using watercolor, acrylic, and colored pencil, and is part of his ongoing Magen David (Shield of David) series that encapsulates Jewish themes and individual letters, all set in unique, ornate patterns bound by the shape of the six-pointed star.

What you are buying is an open-edition color print, hand-signed by the artist, of the painting "Tal" that is 13"x 18" on heavy, high-quality, cold-press watercolor paper. The print is shipped flat with a sturdy cardboard backing.

The watermark (website address) on the graphic shown in this eBay listing is NOT on the final print that you will receive.

Buyer pays for USPS Priority Mail shipping (3 business day delivery). Money orders, PayPal transactions, and personal checks (US only) are accepted. Buyer must contact seller in 48 hours or the auction may be considered void by the seller. Buyers outside of the US must email me to discuss shipping options and international shipping costs. I would be more than happy to combine a multiple print purchase to save you postage costs. Please email me to let me know which prints you want combined.

About the Artist:

Adam Rhine is an artist who has been creating ornate, highly detailed Judaica watercolor paintings since 1999. His style is heavily influenced by medieval illuminated manuscripts which he combines with modern palettes and aesthetics.

He is a member of the American Guild of Judaica Art, and in September, 2004, Adam was interviewed by the Hallmark Channel to discuss his artwork and inspirations. His designs have also been featured on the covers of the “Texas Jewish Post,” “Kashrus Magazine,” and “Chadashot Magazine” In September - November, 2007, over 40 of his paintings were shown at the Westchester Jewish Center Gallery, Mamaroneck, NY, in a one-man show.

Adam’s 108-page hardcover art book, Hebrew Illuminations published by Sounds True Inc. features all 22 Hebrew Illuminated Letters, as well as 22 select designs from his ongoing Magen David (Star of David) series. The meanings and numerology behind each letter are written about in great detail by Adam with the help of New York-based writer/teacher Louise Temple, as well as fascinating insights into each Magen David painting.

For the fourth year in a row, Adam’s bestselling wall calendar, also called Hebrew Illuminations, features 16 of his unique Judaica designs.
