Weight: 1 lb. 1 oz. (including the one ounce inner cone) and will yield about 3360 yards per lb.

One of the most versatile cotton yarn types, 8/2 unmercerized 100% cotton yarn is a favorite of weavers who love this durable, absorbant yarn for fingertip and dish towels, baby blankets and more! This cotton yarn has good strength (suitable for warp) and softness...one of the nicer 8/2 unmercerized that I've seen. The sett would be about 22-26 epi for weaving. About 32 closely-spaced wraps per inch. Fine or fingering weight for knitters (probably best if doubled). This is a new, top quality yarn from a contaminant-free environment.

Cotton yarn weights:

4/2 cotton = 1680 yards per pound (ypp)
5/2 cotton = 2100 ypp
6/2 cotton = 2520 ypp
8/2 cotton = 3360 ypp
10/2 cotton = 4200 ypp
