About

This

Antiquarian

Book

This AWESOME LONG OUT OF PRINT Antiquarian auction catalogue lists and describes 40 Lots, ALL of which appear to be amply illustrated, of interestingly rare Porcelains / Ceramics and other items associated with the Tea Ceremony from the 17th Century and later

Items include -- tea bowls / caddies, flower vases, water containers, food vessels, dishes, sake bottles, tea related hanging scrools, tea screen with fan paintings -- many showing original authenticated wood box, among OTHERS

Nations Represented / Periods -- China, Korea, Japan / Ming, Choson, Momoyama, Edo, and MORE

WOWSERS! This is one really awesome reference to the often overlooked field of the tea ceremony and its accessories. A most welcome addition to your own personal computer interactive relational database of these kewl items, which will certainly fill in some of the gaps in both actual textual descriptions and numerous colour pictures!

When Evelio and I had our antique shop open there were several tea related Asian items on display -- most were sold to the New York area dealers who were repeat customers. A must have reference for Asian antique collectors / dealers / appraisers / artists / ceramists - designers as an inspiration / and for researchers / students of this subject / the best known makers / designs -- a fine addition to your personal antiques reference library -- or as a gift for a friend.
