THE BEE GEES: BARRY GIBB, ROBIN GIBB and MAURICE GIBB Black and white publicity photograph of The Bee Gees in the recording studio.
Photograph signed: "[Barry's unique signature]", " Robin" and " Peace/Maurice". B/w, 9¾x7¾ overall, image 9x7¼ (one surface). Peter Frampton, also pictured, did not sign. The Gibb brothers, born in England but raised in Australia, had a series of hit records in the late 1960s, including "Massachusetts", "I've Gotta Get a Message to You" and "To Love Somebody". They returned to even greater popularity with the disco soundtrack to the hit film, Saturday Night Fever (1977). As they evolved into different musical styles, the high quality of their voices and harmonies remained constant. The popular group consisted of BARRY (born in 1946), who was known for his distinctive falsetto voice, and fraternal twin brothers MAURICE (1949-2003) and ROBIN (born in 1949). A fourth Gibb brother, ANDY (1958-1988), was a popular solo artist who died in 1988 at age 30. Barry, who is also a composer and producer, mentored contestants on the popular TV show, American Idol, in May 2007, and he sang his own composition, "To Love Somebody", on the results show. Slightly surface creased (not evident head on), else fine condition. | Click image(s) to enlarge: |
