THE BROWN DERBY COOKBOOK 1949 VINTAGE ANTIQUE 1st ed.

Up for auction today we have a rare hard to find copy of The Brown Derby Restaurant Cookbook. It is copyright 1949, 1st edition. Doubleday & company, Inc. There are 272 pages in all. Famed Restaurant for The Cobb Salad and famous movie star gathering place. Over 500 unusual recipes from the staff of the famous Brown Derby Restaurants.

Here you will find selected recipes for hors d' oeuvre, soups, salads, dressings, fish, meats, fowl, vegetables, cheese, curries, eggs, barbecues, desserts, and many other dishes.

The dust jacket has some wear and tear, it has been taped, has yellowed from age and has some pieces missing from it, and a few small stains, but has kept the book in great condition. On the inside of the dust jacket there also are a few white blank name labels holding some of the tears together.

The book itself is in very nice condition for it's age. There are a few light stains on the edges of the pages, and can be seen when the book is closed. The last page has a small stain in the corner of the page.

One page has a brown discolored spot between the pages at the top where an old newspaper clipping once was and had tanned that area of the page. Two pages have some tanning around the edges of the pages from age, otherwise all other pages in the book are in very nice condition. I did not see and writing, tears or any other stains. 

 The hardcover of the book has some minor edgewear and there are a few tiny stains in the spine, as shown in one of my pics,  but nothing major. This book was an estate sale find and I have described it to the best of my knowledge.  Please accept my pictures as part of my description.

Great collectible rare cookbook from a famous Restuarant that is long gone.
