SS Still Sealed:  Sealed at factory and never opened

M Mint:  This grade will not be used.

NM Near Mint:  Bright shiny vinyl.  A minor scuff or two may be permitted, but no scratches.  The label is like new.

NM- Near Mint minus:  Bright Shiny vinyl.  There may be a possibility hairline scratch or two but nothing that affects play.  Label like new.

VG++ Very Good++:  Vinyl is bright, shiny with possible minor scratches or paper scuffs.  Minimal impact on sound.

VG+ Very Good plus:  Some visible surface wear, Very minor scuffing or scratching.  Vinyl still has good luster and label may have minor imperfections but otherwise clean.  An enjoyable listen.

VG Very Good:  Vinyl will have noticeable scratches or scuffs that may cause minor surface noise.  Vinyl may be somewhat dull.  Label or spindle hole may have wear or deformation.  Plays through with light surface noise.

G Good:  Well played with dull vinyl, scratches, and wear causing obvious pops and cracks.  Still plays through without skipping.  Label may be damaged or defaced.

F or P Fair/Poor:  Unless this record is rare, this item condition would not normally be listed.  Listening will be painful, although someone may need

to complete a collection until a better copy is found.

Cover Grading

SS Still Sealed:  Album is in factory applied shrink wrap.

M Mint:  No corner wear, dings, slight creases, ring impression, or other flaws.  Still has glossy appearance.

NM Near Mint:  Very minor signs of scuffs, wear, or cover impressions; upon very close inspection.

VG+ Very Good +:  Minor disc impression or slight corner creases.  Minor edge wear and no foreign marks.

VG Very Good:  Cover is clean but may have minor writing or marks and show slight wear.  There may be minor ring wear, or wear on a raised or textured area.  There may be yellowing or discoloration due to aging.  Corners and edges probably will show wear but overall the cover still is fully functional.  One small split may be allowed but otherwise attractive and fully functional.

G Good:  Several of the above flaws are present, seams are starting to split, large marker, or evidence of tape repair visible.  Damaged corners and seams, or discolored artwork possible.  Possibly useful to complete a collection, until a better one is found.

F or P  Fair/Poor:  Same as above only worse.  Probably needs to be tossed.
