THE DIARY OF ANAIS NIN
Volume Six 1955-1966

Edited and with a Preface by Gunther Stuhlmann

From the dust jacket --
The Diary of Anais Nin has been praised by critics as one of the great literary creations of our time, and has become a pioneering document for women around the world. This volume of the Diary begins with a discussion of drugs versus the artist’s vision, a subject Anais Nin debates with Aldous Huxley; and it concludes with the impending publication of the Diary, ending Anais’s long struggle to gain acceptance for her work. As always her life brings her into contact with many other people in the arts –among them Lawrence Durrell, Marguerite Young, Henry Miller, Romain Gary, James Leo Herlihu, Marguerite Duras, Tennessee Williams, Allan Ginsberg, and Carese Crosby. A sensitive travel writer, Anais gives fascinating accounts of visits to Sweden, the Brussels World’s Fair, and the South of France. Once again she enjoys the stimulus of Paris and is moved by the haunting beauty of Venice. For a time she serves as roving editor for a magazine called Eve.
Included here are her perceptive commentaries on books, plays, and films; a correspondence with two men in prison; and many humorous storues. …Throughout Volume Six, readers will find the passages of illuminating psychological exploration they have come to expect of Anais Nin, as she continues her inner journey towards fulfillment as woman and artist.

This hard cover book with dust jacket is in good condition. All pages are clean and the binding is tight. There are some faint stains on the edge of the book and the spine.
