LES FICHES DE MONSIEUR CINEMA Histoire Illustree du Cinema Mondial

Here is a card from the Monsieur Cinema Movie Card series from France.  The writing is in French on the back.

The Card measures a very large 8 1/16 x 5 1/8 inches (20.5 x 13 cm) and is printed in full color on the front (except where the original photo was black and white) and the back has a complete story about the film and the making of, contributors, cast and so much more.  The picture or pictures are full-bleed with a colorful top bar which indicates the title of the film in French.     

Monsieur Cinema cards (also called Mr. Cinema or Mr Cinéma cards) first came out in 1976 as a subscription card set in France, just like Sportcaster / Edito Service / Atlas Edition Cards in the USA but these cards have outlasted them all as new cards are still being released today in France.  The cards have always been released in decks, the first 199 decks were 25 cards each, and since then 36 cards per deck.  Subscription cards are cards that you buy by mail and remit a payment every month to continue getting the cards.
